Spend a week this summer growing, harvesting, and cooking food right in the gardens at Glen Urquhart! Every day, we'll explore a different part of growing food from the soil and everything living in it to seeds, pollinators, and what plants need to grow. Enjoy the gorgeous weather AND learn to make delicious healthy snacks all while learning how to grow food and how our food system works in Cape Ann and beyond!
Join us at Rose Baker for pea seed planting!
Thursdays theme is Blossoming Botanist. Kids will be introduced to Botany: the study of plants. Through scientific observation, art, and play we will answer some questions about plants like: why are they green? How do they grow? What do they need? how are they different from each other? and how do I plant my own?
Wednesday’s theme is Life in the Soil & Sky where we will focus on some critters that give life to soil and plants.
The Tuesday Children's Workshop theme is Gardening Past and Present where we will dive into what gardening used to look like and how some ancient practices are still used today.
Backyard Growers will be making pink slaw at Rose Baker Senior Center for their Valentine's Day Party!
Last day to shop Backyard Growers' holiday pop-up shop!
Celebrate seasonal produce and learn new recipes you can make at home!
