Spring may seem a long way off, but it's really just around the corner. If you'd like to get a jump on spring, join us for a garden workshop from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, at our new office, 269 Main Street, Gloucester.
The theme of the day: the versatile and colorful world of lettuces! We'll be talking about why lettuce is the perfect early spring crop. We'll even get you started with some lettuce transplants. We'll be sampling different kinds of greens you can grow this spring to experiment with different colors, tastes, and varieties. We'll even be making a few different salad dressings with the kids for everyone to try!
Bring the kids! We'll have some special activities and fun ideas to get them excited about gardening.
$15 for the whole family (Free for Backyard Growers families!)
We'll need help setting up, assisting with the transplanting demo and planning workshop, and running special creative activities to to engage the kids in the process including some arts and crafts and preparing the salad dressings for the lettuce tasting.
